Governor appoints emergency manager for Mhps

DWeatherspoonDonald Weatherspoon, a former Michigan State University professor and current government administrator, has been appointed emergency manager for Muskegon Heights Public Schools.

Weatherspoon has a Ph.D. in general education administration as well as experience with a wide variety of government agencies. He served as an adjunct professor in the school of criminal justice at Michigan State University for 21 years. 

As emergency manager, Dr. Weatherspoon will develop a written financial and operating plan within 45 days of his appointment. Weatherspoon will also maintain ongoing communications with school district officials, parents of Muskegon Heights students, members of the community, and the media.
